Sam 2nd of the Défi Azimut - Initiatives Cœur

Superb performance by Sam who finished in second position just 7 minutes behind Vincent Riou, and ahead of Yann Eliès and Paul Meilhat. We were a bit worried that the PRB’s latest generation foils might outmatch everyone on the high-speed return. But it took Vincent Riou more than 80 miles to overtake Sam and Yann gained less than 3 miles on the way back. Unthinkable only a year ago!

In particular it meant that the boat could be tested at more than 25 knots under racing conditions, which was excellent training and very reassuring just over a month before the Route du Rhum in which Sam will now inevitably be expected to be right up front – but we mustn’t put the pressure on ;-).
